JUNCTURE

The repetition of tasks in life, whether recently developed or edited and refined meticulously, is comforting; I depend on routine for structure. A tool can be depended on to do a certain job, a task can be expected to yield a planned result, and the brain need not strain itself with the cause and effect of every motion. I use routine both in making and in documenting my state of being. This form is made of 1000+ dental floss picks, each clinging, relying on each other to hold the form together. The pinching of the copper rivets has them in a state of compression and stress. This explores how routine provides comfort, limitation, and the possibility to alter or break cycles.
